Camp Food Sprouts!


We are very excited announce that KYF will be hosting a two week summer camp program for children ages 6-12. Camp Food Sprouts will allow children to learn about cooking, baking, nutrition, and gardening.  However, it will most importantly allow them to have fun! This four-week camp will be held at the Unity of Charlotte Church, located at 401 E. Arrowood Rd. The facility has a great classroom that is separate from the church, a wonderful outdoor play area, lovely garden beds for us to use, and a kitchen for us to cook and bake in. Each week will have a different theme, but they will all cover the topics of ethical stewardship for our land, sustainability, health and nutrition, and community building. Each week the children will engage in projects and crafts they can take home, work together to create a gift for the garden at the church, learn food preparation and food safety, and have a party at the end of the week to wrap up everything they have learned and created.

The camp will run from 9:00am – 3:30 pm and the fee is $300 per week. We can offer childcare until 5:30 for an additional fee. While some activities or games may overlap, the projects and crafts will be different each week, so feel free to sign your children up for multiple weeks!
